35.5″x23.5″ Dry Erase Wall Calendar – Includes 4 Markers & Eraser – Review

Why I Almost Returned This Giant Wall Calendar (But Didn’t)

Honestly? My first impression was terrible. The box arrived looking like it had been used in a soccer match. One corner was completely crushed, and I could hear something rattling around inside. My heart just sank. I was picturing a shattered piece of glass that I’d have to meticulously repackage and ship back. A whole ordeal. I was THIS close to just taping it back up and writing “RETURN TO SENDER” right then and there.

When I finally got the courage to open it, the smell hit me. It wasn’t a toxic chemical smell, but it was this weird, plasticky, new-factory odor that filled my entire living room. I had to open a window in the middle of February. And the contents? Chaos. The glass board was in a thin cardboard sleeve, the markers were loose, and the little metal clips and eraser were just bouncing around freely. There were zero instructions. Just a glass rectangle and a handful of parts. I stared at it all spread out on my floor and felt a wave of pure frustration. What was I supposed to do with these tiny L-shaped metal things? I’d bought this to organize my life, and it had immediately created more clutter and confusion.

The supposed “easy mounting” was my next nightmare. The product description made it sound like you just pop on the clips and you’re done. But holding a 3-foot-wide piece of glass level against your wall while trying to screw in four tiny, fiddly clips is a special kind of stress test. I dropped a clip behind my bookshelf. I was muttering to myself, using words I wouldn’t repeat here. The first time I put it up, it was so crooked it looked like a modern art installation about anxiety. I took it down. I tried again. Still crooked. At this point, I was stress-eating the last of my son’s goldfish crackers, glaring at this expensive piece of glass leaning against my wall, and actively looking for the return policy on my phone.

The Grudging One-Week Trial

Here’s the turning point: pure laziness. I’d already taken it down twice. The thought of finding a box big enough, packing it safely, and hauling it to a drop-off point felt like a Herculean task. So I gave up. I shoved the calendar board behind my sofa, fully intending to deal with it “later.” It sat there for a week, judging me every time I walked by. Finally, on a Sunday when I was avoiding laundry, I decided to give it one last, calm attempt. No rush. No frustration-eating snacks. I got a real level from the toolbox, measured carefully, and used a pencil to mark the spots. This time, the clips went on straight. And when I lifted the board onto them, it actually clicked into place. Perfectly level. A tiny miracle.

Okay, Fine. It Works.

I hate to admit it, but once it was finally on the wall, something shifted. I uncapped one of the included markers—expecting it to be some cheap, scratchy thing that would die in a week—and wrote “APRIL” at the top. The marker glided. It was actually a nice, fine tip. The ink was a vibrant blue. And erasing? A dream. One wipe with the little felt eraser and it was gone. No ghosting, no smudges. My old whiteboard calendar left faint traces of every meeting I’d ever had; this glass surface wiped clean like it was brand new every time.

The real redemption came with daily use. I started scribbling deadlines, my kid’s dentist appointments, even meal plans. Because it’s so big and right there in my home office, I couldn’t ignore it. My chaotic, sticky-note-based system melted away. I honestly don’t know why the markers that come with it are so good when the packaging is so bad, but they are. They haven’t dried out, and the colors are distinct. The aluminum holder is actually super handy—it sticks to the glass with a magnet, and all four markers and the eraser snap in neatly. No more hunting for a dry-erase marker under the couch cushions.

And that giant size I initially found daunting? It’s the best part. I have the whole month laid out with room for notes in the margins. I can see a vacation block, a project deadline, and “buy dog food” all at once. It stopped being a piece of decor and started functioning as my external brain. I was making a cup of tea one morning, glanced at it, and realized I’d totally forgotten about a video call starting in 10 minutes. It saved me. I still resent the traumatic unboxing and mounting process, but I can’t deny the result.

The Final, Grumpy Verdict

So, would I repurchase? That’s complicated. If this one broke today? Yeah, probably. But I’d buy it knowing I’m signing up for a frustrating 30-minute assembly project. I’d also buy my own pack of good dry-erase markers as a backup, just in case the included ones are a fluke. The value is in the glass surface itself—it’s genuinely durable and wipes clean perfectly. The mounting hardware, while finicky, does work if you’re patient and use a level.

It’s not a magical, life-transforming object. It’s a very well-functioning tool that comes in a poorly thought-out package. It organizes my chaos. It works. And sometimes, that’s enough to make up for a truly awful first date with a product. Just be prepared to earn it.

If you want to try it yourself, here’s where I got mine.
